Badaling Great Wall: The Great Wall is a series of stone and earthen fortifications in China. The Great Wall was built, rebuilt, and maintained between 5th century BC and the 16th century to protect the northern borders of the empire during the successive dynasties. The most famous wall was built between 220 BC and 200 BC by the first Emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang. The Great Wall is one of the existing mega structures and the world's longest man-made structure, stretching over 6000 km from Shanhaiguan Pass in the east to Lop Nur in the west.

 

Ming Tombs: At a distance of 50 km northwest of Beijing stands an arc-shaped cluster of hills fronted by a small plain. Here is where 13 emperors of the Ming dynasty (1368-1644) were buried, and the area is known as the Ming Tombs.
